What are some must-see Orlando attractions?
Going to Orlando in July, and we’re already going to Disney World, not interested in other theme parks. What other attractions do u recommend for a family with one 12 year old and a 9 year old? Thanks in advance!

UNOVERSAL STUDIOS. Its not as good since Back To The Future isnt there anymore (I would have left it there forever) but it is still fun.

I know you said you are not interested in other theme parks but my kids really enjoyed the ANIMAL KINGDOME! My husband and I thought it was so awesome, if you go try out the Kilamanjaro Safari where you actually get to see wild animals while you ride on the bus. It’s a must see, when we go back…that will be a must do again for us. Good luck, sorry I don’t have other ideas.

1. Not sure if you consider Sea World a theme park, but I’d consider going there. Think of it as an upscale, huge aquarium with a couple of rides as a bonus (ones kids that age will love).
2. There are some dinner shows such as the Pirate Adventure show which are pretty popular.
3. I haven’t done this yet but I heard it’s great – it’s like this indoor skydiving adventure. The link is:

Hi!
When you mean “not interested in other theme parks” I’m taking it as you are ONLY going to Disney’s 4 theme parks, and possibly their 2 waterparks. Correct? If so, than these are my reccomendations…
I know that you’re kids are 9 & 12, if they like rollercoasters, and are thrill seekers than they will like…
1. Expedition Everest in the Animal Kingdom. This ride is kinda new and AMAZING ! I’m not going to give away any juicy details, but you have to ride it. It is located in the Asia area of the park. Even if your kids decide they don’t want to, than you HAVE to. Its the best themed coaster.
Check it out:
oh & the video makes it look scarier and faster than it really is.
2. Kilimanjaro Safaris in the Animal Kingdom. Tons of animals will excite the kids and it is a great family ride, with a surprising storyline.
Its a cool adventure, you actually feel like you are in Africa.
P.S if you are going to Disney, everything there is good for the kids.

Alright, I am assuming that you are only looking for must-sees in the 4 Disney Parks and possibly the water parks.
Well, you of course have to go to all 4 of the Disney Parks on your vacation.
Magic Kingdom:
*Pirates of the Caribbean
*”It’s a small world”- This ride is an original. When you go on it, the ride song will never get out of your head. ha ha. You will remember it all your life.
*Buzz Light year- Fun for the whole family to go on. You sit in this car, and on each side of you are these figures with bullseyes on them. You shoot in the middle of them, and you gain points. It’s a lot of fun. My family and I always compete with each others points.
*Space Mountain-It’s a great roller coaster especially with a 12 year old and 9 year old, but i’m pretty sure it will be closed in July due to remodeling.
*Splash Mountain
While you are at Magic Kingdom, be sure that you catch a parade, and fireworks. Fireworks are at each park on various days. If you are planning on doing a character meal, the Cinderella’s Breakfast in Cinderella’s castle is very popular, but a favorite, so if you want to eat there, make reservations as soon as you can.
Epcot:
*Soarin-You sit in these seats in front of a screen, and you get lifted up higher, and it’s almost like you are flying above the trees, The Golden gate bridge etc. And they add scents too. I am going to warn you in advance, get the fast pass for this ride. There is no doubt going to be a 2 hr + wait.
*Test track
*Spaceship Earth
Journey into Imagination with Figment- This is not a big ride, but cute though. They have activities after you get off the ride that are pretty cool. Your whole family will enjoy them.
I have always loved Epcot. I have always found it interesting. They have the whole around the world thing, so all around the park are these different countries such as Norway, Italy, China, Japan etc. They have a ton of stores and restaurants. I would recommend going to the japanese cook in front of you restaurant. The whole family would like that. Make reservations as soon as you can though. If you can. It might be very difficult now that you are going just in July.
Hollywood Studios:
* Rockin Roller Coaster(not for someone who is 9 and 12, unless they really like rollercoasters.
* Tower of Terror(They can go on this one. My brother was 6 when he went on it, but it depends if they are okay with strobe lights, and dropping you down.
* American Idol Experience
*Indiana Jones
*Drew Carrey show
*Who wants to be a millionaire experience
*Monsters Inc
and there is many more….
When you are there, make sure you get to see the Fantasmic! It’s great. Also, the light parade is very good too. Those 2 things have always been my favorite.
Animal Kingdom:
*Expedition Everest-The first time I went on it, I liked it so much I wanted to go on again right away! ha ha.
*Safari
Make sure you don’t go on a really hot hot day. Since it’s going to be summer, it’s still going to be hot, but don’t go when it’s the hottest day of the week. Compared to the other parks in heat, Animal Kingdom is twice as hot.
If you are planning on going to either of the water parks, I would recommend going to Blizzard Beach, and they also have a mini golf place outside of the park. There are 2 courses. Either summer or winter.
Downtown Disney is good too. It’s free. You can literally spend either a whole day or just a night there, and you you won’t have to worry about spending anything, unless you buy something in the shops or decide to go to any of the restaurants. If you won’t mind spending the money, Disney Quest is very fun. It’s all virtual reality stuff. My favorite is the make your own roller coaster. You can add as many loops as you want and everything.
Hope I helped you out. You will have a great time.

If you have a rental car, try taking them out to Kennedy Space Center, or try heading up to the various springs located all over Central Florida. Many of them allow swimming and have hiking trails. Try seeing what Florida was like before Disney moved in.
