How come Florida hotels are cheaper in Orlando, then Sarasota,Daytona Beach areas etc?
Beach access have anything to do with it? These prices are outrageous for beach hotels some 250-300/nite

Supply and Demand
Orlando has lots of things to do that compete with each other, so there are so many hotel rooms and competition to get the tourist dollar. There are so many hotel choices in Orlando that it makes sense to have lowest room rates to attract bookings.
Beach areas primarily have the beach as the sole main feature, so people will either go or not go. That is why hotels can charge more, since the demand is there and the in-market competition is not a major economic force.
Also, Orlando is land locked, so the hotel radius is all around, allowing more rooms. The FL beach is only a shoreline, so the hotels are only limited to the shoreside, making less rooms available.

Being a lifelong resident, I think there are several reasons for the discrepancy in hotel costs. Orlando has thousands upon thousands of hotel rooms! Lots and lots of hotels state that they’re in Orlando, when really they are in some of the outlying areas (Sanford, Lake Mary, Kissimmee, etc.) and charge less. If you check one hotel chain, you will probably find quite a difference in their prices, which may have to do with (in reality) how far away they are from the busy tourist areas.
The beach hotels, well, they’re on the beach! You are also probably looking at some of the more exclusive areas (Sarasota, Daytona, etc.) If you look at Melbourne, Ormond, etc. you will find smaller hotels; will fewer amenities, at reduced rates.
Also, it’s winter… it’s snowing in many other places. Peoples want to escape and come to where it’s warm and sunny!

Orlando is the timeshare capital – literally more timeshares here than any other city in the world. That means major competition for the hotels.
Add to that lower land costs than near the beaches and you have your answer.
